The Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) is for people who are engaged to marry an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and want to come to Australia to do so.
It's a temporary, one-off visa built specifically around the engagement and wedding, not an ongoing residence pathway in its own right.

Marrying your partner doesn't automatically convert your visa into a Partner visa. You'll need to lodge a separate application for the onshore Partner visa (subclass 820/801) after the wedding, and you'll need to still meet the relevant requirements at that time. The subclass 300 itself is a temporary visa only and doesn't lead to permanent residence on its own.
Expect to provide identity and character documents alongside evidence of the relationship — how the relationship developed, communication between you, any time spent together, and your wedding plans. Anything not in English needs to be translated, and applications are generally lodged from outside Australia.
